The process of building self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal abilities necessary for success in school, the workplace, and life is known as social-emotional learning (SEL).
People with high social-emotional abilities are better able to handle daily problems and reap academic, career, and social benefits. SEL lays the groundwork for good, long-lasting benefits for children, adults, and communities through effective problem-solving, self-discipline, impulse control, emotion regulation, and more.

When we implement social-emotional learning in schools, children do well, schools triumph, and the entire society strengthens.

Students need social-emotional learning because it gives them valuable life lessons including how to understand themselves, form a positive self-image, accept responsibility for their actions, and build healthy relationships.

English and we plan to expand to other languages as we grow.

Our materials are all written by licensed experts and reviewed by licensed therapists and other professionals before they are released on the platform. All content is aligned to cover the five competencies set forward by Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) which is the leading organization advancing the development of academic, social, and emotional competence for all students.

Our curriculum, material, and method, in addition to the personalization of each student’s library, align with an evidence-based approach that not only promotes the teaching of SEL but also strengthens other crucial skills like comprehension and reading. Our content delivery system offers a wide range of social abilities to help students behave better in class, deal with the constantly shifting social environment, navigate their emotions, make valid social judgments to solve problems, and comprehend established social norms.

Soon parents are able to access in read-only mode the material covered in class and not their entire platform.

Schools and districts frequently wonder how to evaluate their students’ social-emotional skills. Asking teachers and students for feedback can serve as a social-emotional learning (SEL) assessment that is as informal or formal as desired.

Schools and districts typically decide to take a course of action that falls between these two. The teacher can administer this quick assessment a few times throughout the academic year using the HM SEL assessment we have developed. It is automated on the platform and results are saved on each student’s profile to help the teacher access previous results. We offer recommendations based on a student’s score. We can also point schools in the direction of randomized control trial (RCT) assessments which might be helpful for students who might continue to score low in the HM SEL assessment.

The best way for teachers to use the HM SEL assessment:

  • Answer the short questionnaire for each student 4-weeks after the new academic year has begun
  • See the comprehensive results as well as the results per competency
  • See the HM SEL assessment suggestions that acompany each result
  • Answer the short questionnaire for each student at the end of the academic year
  • Evaluate improvement and next steps by comparing the two assessments

The test consists of 30 questions to evaluate all competencies and provide a detailed and comprehensive score and suggestions.
