CASEL - Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning.

The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) is the gold standard for SEL. Heroes Made aligns with all five CASEL competencies, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive, research-based SEL education that fosters emotional intelligence, responsible behavior, and meaningful relationships.

Self-Awareness

Helping students recognize emotions, strengths, and their personal identity. Heroes Made supports students in developing self-awareness by providing tools and activities that help them understand their emotions, values, and personal strengths.

  • Identifying personal, cultural, and linguistic assets – Recognizing unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives.

  • Identifying one's emotions – Developing vocabulary and awareness for expressing feelings.

  • Linking feelings, values, and thoughts – Understanding how emotions influence decisions and behaviors.

  • Examining prejudices and biases – Cultivating self-awareness regarding personal and societal biases.

Self-Management

Helping students regulate emotions, set goals, and take responsibility for their actions. Heroes Made provides strategies to develop self-regulation, stress management, and goal-setting skills.

  • Managing one's emotions – Teaching coping strategies for stress, frustration, and disappointment.

  • Identifying and using stress-management strategies – Encouraging mindfulness, breathing techniques, and problem-solving.

  • Exhibiting self-discipline and self-motivation – Supporting students in developing persistence and accountability.

  • Setting personal and collective goals – Encouraging students to create and achieve personal and group objectives.

  • Using planning and organizational skills – Helping students develop structure and consistency in their tasks.

Encouraging empathy, respect for diversity, and understanding of social norms.
